This is a view of my office building at night, from the waterfront and fountain

What I did not miss was the traffic, it has gotten progressively worse in the 13 odd months I have been a SAHM, do I miss being a SAHM? you bet your sweet cookies! I would take it any day, but as i explained in an earlier post, in my now in-accessible blog, there are projects I want to undertake at home that one salary just cannot be stretched to do, and of course extra curricular activities for the kids, vacations, (Tismee 2 Gail) the vacation queen knows what I am speaking of.
My patio that I want to furnish in the very near future.

Speaking of traffic something exiting road-wise is happening today, a major highway, (well major for us anyway) was under construction, an overpass that would take away a huge amount of cars heading south, and ease up the east dwellers like me, is opening today!! YAY!! no more traffic, well, we'll see, it's really big and impressive (again for us anyway) lol! and it's opening today!
This is the artist/designer's interpretation, I can only describe it from the ground, in you know what I mean.

But of course the highlight of my job, or rather the highlight of the Summit is that U.S. President Obama was taking part!!! And being part of the summit staff, I was bombarded with questions about, 'would I get to see him?' 'would i get to meet him?' 'would I take a pic while sitting on his lap? ' actually just Nikki asked that one, she's such a smartmouth!
So, no I did not get to meet him, I am not the wife of any Head of state, I depended on pics in the media just like the rest of the country, I did get to see his car, you know the big black car, yup it was parked just outside my office, and I looked at it!! woo hoo! ok, not all that exiting really.
Here are some pics that I did not take, of course,

the handshake seen around the world, and it happened here!!

US President and My Prime Minister
In my next post I will give pics of my actual summit experience, it was soo much fun!

you are such a hot shot, what does big O have for breakfast in the mornings///?/???//??/////?/////?
It sounds like you have an interesting job, Raxx.
Wow, how exciting! I would have to say though that it would have killed me to know Obama was in the building and I couldn't go see him!
Sounds like a very important job you have there and fun too! So when the Summit is over, will you still be working?
Kady
Hey there Miss Big Britches, Are you sure you're not too important to converse with us? It sounds like your job is pretty exciting. What happens after all the hoopla is over?
I'm sure Mr. O would have let you sit on his lap if he's had a chance to see how cute you are! LOL Don't tell Mr. Raxx I said that though.
Hugs, Bridget
Would you believe I still don't know what the hell you do at your job? ROFL!
The building looks gorgeous and I'm glad you're really enjoying being out in the work force again. Can't wait to see how you decorate your patio!!!!!!!
So, how much you making?
ROFL! Just kidding!

Hello there! So glad to have you visit the Dacha :) LOL
I know the pull of outdoor work versus SAHM....ah the life of a woman!!!! :)
Looking forward to seeing the patio re-do!
Raxx~
You are a VIP...sounds like an interesting and fulfilling job. The view of your office building at night is amazing!

Raxx, What an exciting career. At least if you have to go back to work it will be fun! ~ Robyn
Hi Sweetie! Oh, your job sounds so wonderful and you're so very important! The view at night is stunning! Hope all works out and you'll be able to accomplish all your projects! Now that little beach babe on your side bar is just the most precious little thing!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Raxx sounds like a great job!!!!
So sorry that you didn't meet President "O", but don't feel bad.
When he visited Canada (Feb. 19th)
my dtr. was perched on a roof top protecting his buns while freezing hers off. (It was such a cold and blustery day.) My Son-in-law was part of his U.C. Entourage but he neither got to shake his hand, but guess who got close enough to reach out and touch him?
'The Pres' had made an unscheduled stop to pick up some goodies for his children; Jamieson by fluke, happened to be at the right place at the right time and got security clearance from my SIL; thus he ended up to be within arms-length from him during a Press photo session. NOPE, 'he' wasn't fortunate to get a photo as he didn't want to risk reaching into his jacket to retrieve his cell phone. (His Momma didn't raise any dummy....ha, ha.) Brothers will brothers as he is still teasing his little sister about it.
Well.... according to my source...I heard that you DID sit on his lap...but since it's a matter of National Security you can't talk about it. It's ok...I understand the concept of State secrets! Your job sounds totally cool...and completely confusing lol
Love the picture at night. I think night photos look like Christmas . All the twinkle reflected is so pretty. Kathy
I would love to be a SAHM, but since my kids are grown and out of the house I guess I would be a SAHW. (Stay At Home Wife). But I need to work, so I can't do that yet. Sigh....
About the petunias. I did transplant plants last year into my tower. But this year I am going to try them from seed. So we will see how long it takes for them to grow from seed. I hope to be planting them this week sometime. Thanks for visiting!
I have to admit, I wondered what you did (for work) also! Thanks for coming by to let me know about your blog. I've been taking a blogging break since Easter, trying to get a few things done, and getting ready for the new baby. I will update my blogroll with your new blogsite.
so you like pictures, well well welll
Hi Raxx, thanks for stopping by! Love your new blog, looks great. I'm glad you are liking your new job! What a great view! We are living on one salary too right now and it is more challenging. I will probably get a part time job if things get too tight. Glad things are going well for you! Kristen
I am just so happy to see you again. Your position sounds like a wonderful challenge ~ I know you are up for it!
